Event planning for non-profits
You run the mission. We’ll run the event.
Full-service planning for galas, conferences, donor receptions, and annual meetings — with every vendor, deadline, and dollar visible from day one. No surprises for you. None for your board.
The event you can’t afford to get wrong
Most non-profits don’t have room in the budget for a planner, so the event lands on someone whose real job is something else entirely. Event planning is its own craft — and when it’s a side task squeezed between everything else, things slip. The mistakes almost always cost more than a planner would have, and they leave your guests with a smaller impression of the organization. For a team that answers for every dollar, that’s the last place you want a surprise.
If your organization runs it, we plan it
Revenue events and the everyday ones alike — the night that raises money and the meeting that has to model good stewardship.
- Gala
- Benefit Show/Concert
- Fundraising Dinner
- Auction
- Golf Outing
- 5K/Walkathon
- Conference/Workshop
- …and whatever else is on your calendar
How we work
A simple way of working that keeps you in control of the two things that matter most — the guest experience and the budget.
- 01We learn the event — and the number.Your goals, your guest count, and the budget you have to stay inside.
- 02We line up the vendors and the plan.Sourced, negotiated, and scheduled, with a cost attached to every piece.
- 03You watch the budget as it fills.Every committed dollar in one place, stacking toward your budget line — and stopping short of it.
- 04We run the day.So your team can be present for your guests instead of chasing the caterer.
- Venue$12,000.00
- Catering$15,500.00
- AV & Production$6,000.00
- Rentals$3,200.00
You’ll never wonder where the money went. You’ll know before it’s spent.
Why Non-profit Events exists
Non-profits rarely have room in the budget for an event planner. So the gala, the luncheon, the donor reception gets handed to whoever on staff has a little room that quarter — a program manager, a development associate, someone who’s never run an event and still has a full-time job. And it’s every kind of event: the gala, the conference, the donor reception, the annual meeting.
Things slip — not because anyone dropped the ball, but because event planning is its own craft. The refreshments aren’t ready when guests arrive, so someone runs to the lobby and buys them at three times the price, and expenses it. Whatever the event was for, it quietly costs more than a planner would have, and leaves the room with a smaller impression of the organization.
For a non-profit, that stings twice. Every dollar is answerable — to a board, to donors, to the mission — whether the night is raising money or it’s the annual meeting where you’re expected to model the very fiscal discipline you preach.
Sarah started Non-profit Events because she watched this happen, again and again, from the inside — a career spent at a national education non-profit, running its events, writing its grants, and answering for every dollar. Non-profit Events exists so the people doing the mission don’t have to become event planners overnight: every vendor, deadline, and dollar visible from day one — and a room that leaves thinking more of you, not less.
